LASAG members come from diverse backgrounds and have a full or part time safety role. There are a steadily increasing number of members who are fully dedicated to health and safety and who have professional health and safety qualifications.


The Local Authority Safety Advisors Group (LASAG) acts as a central resource for sharing information and experiences among Safety Advisors and Safety Officers in City and County Councils.

 

LASAG was established in June 1998 and formally recognised by the County and City Managers Association in October of that year. Membership of the Group is open to all Safety Advisors / Officers from the local authorities and representatives from the Irish Public Bodies Mutual Insurances Limited, Local Government Computer Services Board and the Local Government Management Services Board.

The principal aim of the Group is to act as a central resource and share information, ideas and experience.
